The service department at Royal Auto is top notch. We were far from home on our way from Arkansas to Maine when our RAM 1500 eco-diesel started bogging down and would not accelerate. Using my phone I found the closest RAM dealer in Sidney, NY. The service department there was too busy to even plug in the computer to give us an idea of the severity of the truck problem. With our confidence in RAM dealers at a low we made for the next dealer on our route – Royal Auto in Oneonta, NY. The Assistant Service Manager Paul Gore used the computer to do a quite check and recommended we get the truck worked on. They were quite busy but he sent us off to get lunch and got the technician to look at the truck when we returned. They performed a thorough diagnosis and pinpointed the problem. A couple hours later we were back on the road with our truck in full working order. Due to the part which had failed if we had not stopped to get the truck repaired the truck would have stopped running somewhere down the road. We were so appreciative of the courtesy of everyone at Royal especially Paul Gore and Owner Stephen Harris. My grandson needed a place to plug in his ipod and they let him use a vacant office. My husband was restless and pacing and multiple people stopped and chatted with him including the owner. I had a comfy place to sit and chat with other service customers. Thank you Royal Auto you saved our vacation trip.

I went looking during the recent February sale and I was very impressed with all aspects. The sales associate was a contract worker brought in for the sale. She was friendly, professional, and was able to answer my questions directly or find the answer in minutes. There seemed to be a great deal of cooperation between associates and management. I never felt pressured (which always makes me back away!) and she seemed able to read me well. She asked what I was looking for, what my budget wasand did not waste a lot of time trying to talk me into something I knew I could not afford, and neither did anyone else. She showed me a 2006 Hyundai Tiburon that I fell immediately in love with! I NEVER would have asked to look at that car, it's so out of character for me. But once I sat in it and drove it I knew that this was MY car. I had to bring it back 3 X to get it through inspection. They'd had to do some work on it and it needed to be driven to reset the computer. Turned out the battery was bad so the computer wasn't resetting. They put in a new battery and everything worked fine. Each time I brought it in, though, the wait was minimal, waiting area is comfortable, staff was helpful & friendly. This is a far cry from an experience I had with Royal about 12 years ago. If you've had a bad experience with Royal in the past I would suggest giving them another try. They are definitely more organized and professional than they were years ago. From sales, to management, to service - everyone seemed to know what they were doing and there was good communication between themselves as well as with me. I am very quick to criticize, so I also like to give credit where due also.

The service department at Royal Oneonta is one in a million! I’ve brought my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee here for 5 years and have never been treated anything less than special. Barry, Paul and Rich take the time to listen, suggest just what is needed and deliver always. Recently I had a problem and came in for guidance and without an appointment Barry took my car keys and said they would check it out.
